POD took a total of 3 months to Research, Design & Construct

  • Initial studies were conducted to understand the scope of homelessness. We took a deep dive into understanding the issue of Homelessness in New Jersey, specifically in Newark.

  • Our initial research studies led us to hone in on 5 themes while designing our project. Foldability, Human Interaction, Portability, Flexibility, and Modularity.

  • The materiality significantly impacted the budget for our project with extensive lead times and low stock on lumber. With $10,000, we were not only able to build a dwelling unit, but we built a potential future for P.O.D nationwide.
